Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Direct Hire Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students' growth and success as a Special Education Teacher in a resource classroom focused on elementary-aged learners with mild to moderate disabilities. These full-time, direct hire roles offer immediate placement for engaged educators ready to make a meaningful impact through the remainder of the current school year. With two positions available across two local school sites, you'll help shape a supportive, inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
What We're Looking For:
Valid California CTC Special Education credential (required) Experience working with elementary students—ideally in a resource or inclusive setting Familiarity with students whose needs range from mild to moderate disabilities A collaborative, positive approach with excellent communication skills Strong understanding of IEP documentation, implementation, and progress monitoring Organization and adaptability to manage a caseload of approximately 28 students Ability to start as soon as possible and commit through the end of the school year
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver individualized instruction in academic and behavioral areas Write and implement IEPs tailored to each student's strengths and needs Work closely with general education teachers, staff, and families to promote inclusivity Monitor and report on student progress, making data-driven adjustments as needed Foster a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment Participate in ongoing professional learning and team collaboration This is a chance to have a lasting influence on students' educational journeys while growing your own practice in a supportive, collaborative setting.
