Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Special Education Teacher and make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs. In this vibrant role, you will develop and implement individualized educational plans, foster inclusive classroom environments, and collaborate closely with colleagues, parents, and specialists to support student success. Your energetic approach will inspire confidence and motivation in every learner, ensuring they reach their full potential through tailored instruction and innovative teaching strategies. Duties Design and deliver individualized instruction aligned with students' IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) to meet their unique developmental, behavioral, and academic needs. Implement instructional modifications and accommodations to support students with disabilities across core subjects such as literacy, math, science, and social skills. Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, counselors, and other specialists to create cohesive learning experiences and behavioral support plans. Conduct assessments to monitor student progress using standardized testing, formative evaluations, and observational data; adjust teaching methods accordingly. Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques, behavior management strategies, and applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles to foster a safe and productive learning environment. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress, discuss concerns, and coordinate support strategies. Integrate educational technology tools and learning technology platforms to enhance instructional delivery and student engagement. Requirements Valid teaching credential with certification in special education or equivalent licensure; experience working with students with disabilities preferred. Demonstrated expertise in developing curriculum tailored for learners with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), deaf or visually impaired education needs. Strong knowledge of special education law, IEP development process, instructional modifications, and educational compliance standards. Experience working with children across early childhood to elementary levels; familiarity with preschool or early intervention programs is a plus. Proficiency in classroom management techniques, behavior management for students with special needs, and behavioral therapy methods such as ABA or music therapy. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders including students, parents, colleagues, and external specialists. Skilled in using educational technology tools for lesson planning, instructional design, tutoring, and assessment purposes. Pay:
$65.00 - $70.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
