Qualifications & Experience:

Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or equivalent credentials Demonstrated experience working with students with hearing differences, including those utilizing assistive hearing devices like cochlear implants Strong ability to adapt teaching strategies and communication methods for individual student needs Comfort and enthusiasm for traveling between multiple school sites within the county Excellent collaboration skills, working seamlessly with hearing specialists, general educators, and families Commitment to maintaining and supporting an inclusive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction and support to deaf and hard of hearing students in varied educational settings Adapt curriculum and instructional materials based on individual education plans (IEPs) Consult and collaborate with educational teams and families to optimize student development Conduct assessments, track progress, and maintain accurate documentation Foster student self-advocacy skills and independence through differentiated teaching and communication support Serve as a resource and advocate for best practices in deaf education within the county This role offers autonomy, dynamic teamwork, and the chance to support students growth on a broader scale.
