This is a contract opportunity located near Modesto, CA, where your skills will make a meaningful difference in the lives of learners who depend on adaptive educational services.
Key Qualifications:
Valid teaching credentials specific to Visual Impairment or eligibility for credentialing Experience working as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a school setting preferred Strong understanding of Braille instruction, assistive technology tools, and accessible curriculum Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teachers, families, and support staff Compassion, patience, and the ability to tailor instruction according to individual education plans (IEPs)
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and consultation services for students with visual impairments across various educational environments Adapt curriculum materials using accessible formats, including Braille, large print, or audio resources Collaborate with classroom teachers and other educational professionals to provide accommodations and modifications Conduct assessments to determine student needs and develop individualized learning goals Advocate for students' access to appropriate resources, support, and technology Maintain accurate documentation of progress and participate in IEP meetings Offer training and guidance to staff and families on strategies for supporting students with visual impairments This contract position offers you the opportunity to focus on the unique needs of your students, develop creative solutions, and empower young learners every day.
