Position:
Full-Time Total hours: 30 - 35 or 35 - 40 hours per week (will include 30-minute unpaid lunch)
Required License/Certification:
Mod-Severe (SDC) or Extensive Support Needs (ESN) Duties Develop and implement customized lesson plans aligned with individual education programs (IEPs) for students with diverse disabilities Adapt curriculum content to accommodate students' specific learning styles, including literacy, math, physical education, music therapy, and recreational therapy Utilize evidence-based behavioral management techniques such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) and behavioral therapy to support positive behaviors Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, counselors, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive support for each student Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor progress and inform instructional adjustments Manage classroom behavior effectively through proactive classroom management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques Document student progress meticulously and communicate regularly with parents and guardians about developmental milestones and challenges Skills Strong knowledge of special education practices, including curriculum development and instructional design for students with disabilities Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, hearing impairments (deaf education), visual impairments, or other special needs Proficiency in learning technology tools that enhance instruction and engagement for students with diverse learning needs Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, parents, and external specialists Ability to create an inclusive classroom environment that fosters social-emotional growth and academic achievement Skilled in lesson planning tailored to early childhood education, preschool experience, toddler care or Montessori methods when applicable Familiarity with IEP development and implementation processes along with proficiency in standardized testing procedures Knowledge of behavioral health principles and behavior management techniques suitable for children with behavioral challenges Experience providing early intervention services or working within private school settings is a plus Demonstrated ability to mentor colleagues and provide guidance on best practices in special education Join us in shaping a brighter future for children by leveraging your expertise in special education!
