Job Description

Make a real impact supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a school-based, itinerant role near Oakland, CA. This contract position runs from October 12, 2026, through June 4, 2027. In this onsite position, youll empower learners by meeting their unique needs, partnering with educators and families, and promoting accessibility in education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active California teaching credential with a Visually Impaired (VI) endorsement Experience working with visually impaired students in school environments Strong communication skills to collaborate with staff, families, and students Ability to manage and travel to multiple school sites as part of an itinerant caseload Demonstrated commitment to equity, accessibility, and student-centered instruction
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction and support for students who are visually impaired across different campuses Adapt curriculum and learning materials to ensure accessibility and engagement for all learners Assess students' needs and progress, adjusting interventions as required Consult and collaborate closely with teachers, related service providers, and families to best support student inclusion and achievement Educate and train staff regarding accommodations, adaptive technology, and strategies specific to visual impairments Maintain timely documentation and comply with all state and local educational guidelines
