Job Description

Make a difference in the lives of students with visual impairments by providing critical support and specialized instruction in a rewarding contract assignment for the upcoming school year. For those passionate about inclusive education and equipped with the expertise to inspire, this is a unique opportunity to use your skills and creativity in an on-site, itinerant rolesupporting diverse learners from October 12, 2026, through June 4, 2027. As an itinerant teacher for the visually impaired, you will collaborate with school staff and families to ensure student needs are met, create accessible learning materials, and foster independence. Your dedication will empower students to participate fully in both academic and social settings, leaving a lasting impact on their educational journey.
What Were Looking For:
Valid California teaching credential with Visually Impaired (VI) endorsement (required) Experience as a visually impaired teacher or in a similar capacity within a school setting Strong communication and organizational skills for managing multiple sites and caseloads Ability to adapt curriculum and materials for students with varying visual needs Commitment to inclusive practices and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans for students with visual impairments Provide direct instruction and consultative support to students and staff Adapt classroom materials and assessments for accessibility Travel between school sites as assigned within the district Participate in IEP meetings and maintain ongoing communication with families Advocate for students needs and help foster self-advocacy skills This full-time, on-site position offers the chance to work within a supportive and mission-driven academic environment.
