Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make an impact supporting students with visual impairments in the Bay Area by bringing your expertise and passion to a dedicated team for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position runs from October 12, 2026, through June 4, 2027, in a well-established educational environment. You'll work exclusively on-site, traveling between locations to assist students across the district.
Qualifications:
Valid California teaching credential with Visually Impaired (VI) endorsement (required) Previous experience working as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (preferred) Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work independently and adapt to different school environments Commitment to supporting the growth and independence of students with visual impairments
Key Responsibilities:
Provide itinerant instruction and support to a K-12 caseload of students with visual impairments Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and lesson plans tailored to meet each student's needs Collaborate with classroom teachers, school staff, and families to create inclusive environments Teach adaptive and compensatory skills (including use of assistive technology) Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and adjust support strategies as required Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team planning This opportunity offers a competitive pay structure, with earnings between $70 and $74 per hour, for 35 hours each week.
