We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Day Class (SDC) Teacher to join a supportive middle school team in Pacific Grove, CA . This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing specialized instruction and individualized support to students with diverse learning needs in a collaborative educational environment. Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction to middle school students with disabilities in a Special Day Class (SDC) setting. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations. Conduct academic and functional assessments to monitor student progress. Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success. Implement evidence-based instructional strategies and behavior intervention plans. Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment. Maintain accurate student records, progress reports, and required documentation. Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development activities. Differentiate instruction to meet the unique academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of each student.

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field. Valid California Education Specialist Teaching Credential (Mild/Moderate Support Needs or Extensive Support Needs, as appropriate). Ability to obtain and maintain all required clearances prior to employment. Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.

Pay:

$60.00 - $75.00 per hour
