9678654-94954 Job Description Bring your passion for inclusive education to a vibrant elementary school setting where youll provide meaningful support to young learners as a Special Education Teacher. Positioned within a collaborative and well-resourced environment, this contract role supports a specialized classroom serving a caseload of 10 students (with the potential to increase up to 12). You will work closely with a dedicated team, including three paraprofessionals in-class and a wider community of Special Day classes on campus, to deliver individualized instruction and foster student success.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for a 2nd-3rd grade caseload Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs Lead and collaborate with three paraprofessionals to ensure student engagement and growth Track and assess student progress, providing regular updates to families and school staff Participate actively in campus-wide Special Day class initiatives and professional meetings Maintain a supportive and structured classroom environment, promoting positive social-emotional outcomes
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid teaching licensure with Mod/Severe specialization; Mild/Mod credential may be considered for short-term coverage Demonstrated experience supporting elementary-aged students in a special education setting Strong knowledge of IEP processes, behavioral intervention strategies, and differentiated instruction Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Flexibility to adapt to changing needsthis position provides coverage for a leave, with the potential to extend either short-term or through the remainder of the school year If youre committed to making a difference and thrive in dynamic, team-oriented environments, we encourage you to apply today.
