The duties listed below are representative of the general duties of the role and are not exhaustive; additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned. The Engineering Teacher will oversee the Engineering & Innovation Lab at St. John's Episcopal School. The role is anchored first in engineering; mechanical, electrical, and software design; and extends into robotics, electronics, and broader innovation/maker practices. In addition to fostering a collaborative learning environment that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation, this person will be responsible for designing and implementing engaging curriculum focused on engineering principles, robotics, and electronics concepts through courses taught to students from 3rd grade through 8th grade. Under the direction of the Engineering Teacher, students will be inspired to explore the realms of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) through hands-on activities, projects, and competitions.
