This contract opportunity is tailored for educators passionate about making a difference for students with moderate to severe special needs. The assignment serves a classroom of 17 third through fifth graders, some of whom present challenging behaviors. School hours are 7:30 AM to 2:45 PM with a half-hour lunch break, offering a predictable and workable daily schedule. This role is ideal for someone ready to start as soon as possible and continue through December, with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students academic and behavioral needs Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every child can thrive Apply effective strategies for managing challenging behaviors and supporting student growth Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and family members to support student progress Maintain accurate records on student achievement and behavioral interventions Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and goals

Qualifications:

Valid teaching credential in Special Education (moderate/severe or equivalent) required Previous experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably grades 3-5 Proven background in managing and supporting challenging student behaviors in a classroom setting Strong skills in adapting curriculum and instruction for students with diverse learning needs Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities Enjoy fulfilling work where you can make a measurable impact each day and receive pay starting at $38 per hour, depending on your experience.
