Duties Design and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned with students' IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals and state standards Implement instructional modifications and accommodations to meet diverse learning needs, including autism spectrum disorders support and deaf education strategies Utilize educational technology tools to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes Conduct assessments, including standardized testing, to monitor progress and inform instruction Collaborate regularly with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, counselors, and other specialists to support student development Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, behavior reports, and IEP updates Communicate effectively with parents and guardians through regular meetings, progress reports, and conferences to foster a strong partnership in student success Skills Proven experience working with children with disabilities, including those with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder Strong knowledge of special education law, IEP development, and instructional modifications Excellent communication skills for working with students, parents, colleagues, and external specialists Skilled in classroom management techniques tailored for students with developmental disabilities Proficiency in curriculum development for early childhood education, elementary school teaching, literacy education, and math instruction Ability to integrate educational technology effectively into lesson planning and classroom activities Experience in behavior management for students with special needs and implementing behavioral health strategies Knowledge of speech therapy techniques and collaboration skills for multidisciplinary support teams Familiarity with preschool or Montessori approaches is a plus Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods for individual learning styles while maintaining a positive classroom environment
