This contract opportunity brings your expertise as an itinerant Visually Impaired Teacher to a school-based setting, working exclusively onsite throughout the academic year from October 12, 2026, through June 4, 2027. You will serve a diverse caseload, collaborating with educational teams and families to ensure every student receives the specialized support they need to thrive.
Qualifications:
Must possess a valid California teaching credential with a Visually Impaired (VI) endorsement Proven experience or a strong commitment to teaching students with visual impairments Ability to travel between multiple schools as an itinerant educator Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction and adapting curriculum to meet the unique visual needs of each student Collaborate with classroom teachers and other specialists to implement and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) Assess and track student progress, utilizing data to inform teaching methods Provide guidance, training, and resources to school staff and families Advocate for accessible materials, assistive technology, and modifications to maximize student access to their education Maintain accurate records and documentation consistent with school requirements As part of this role, you'll play a vital part in empowering students with visual impairments near San Francisco to achieve academic and personal goals, while working within a supportive and dynamic educational setting.
