Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a direct impact by supporting students with visual impairments in an influential on-site role. Gain experience working within a leading educational environment and collaborate with dedicated school professionals to enhance student engagement and success for the 2026-2027 academic year, October 12th through June 4th. This unique contract position offers the opportunity to serve as an itinerant teacher, providing specialized instruction across multiple school sites in the San Francisco area.
Key Qualifications:
Valid California teaching credential with a Visually Impaired (VI) endorsement Experience working with students who have visual impairments, ideally in a school-based or itinerant setting Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload Excellent communication and collaboration capabilities, supporting both students and school staff Commitment to fostering inclusive, adaptive learning environments Willingness to work exclusively on-site
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver instructional support to students with visual impairments across different schools as part of an itinerant caseload Assess student needs, create individualized educational plans, and track progress Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families Ensure compliance with all relevant IEP guidelines and state educational standards Consult with staff and provide training on strategies and accommodations Advocate for accessible instructional materials and technology for every student This opportunity offers the chance to truly see your expertise make a difference in students' lives, within a contract position of 35 hours per week.
