A contract position is available for a skilled teacher of the visually impaired to provide services in a reputable district in the San Francisco area for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role is itinerant and fully on-site, collaborating with students, families, and educational staff to deliver tailored instruction across multiple school sites.
Key qualifications and experience:
Valid California teaching credential with a Visually Impaired (VI) endorsement (required) Experience working as a teacher for the visually impaired in school settings preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on student needs Proficiency in instructional strategies and assistive technology for visually impaired learners Flexibility and adaptability for on-site, itinerant service delivery Primary responsibilities: Plan and deliver specialized instruction for students with visual impairments from October 12, 2026, through June 4, 2027 Travel to assigned schools within the district to support a manageable caseload Conduct functional vision assessments and participate in IEP meetings Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and related service providers Offer consultation, resources, and training to staff and families to enhance student access and inclusion Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state requirements This assignment provides a rewarding opportunity to make a direct impact in the lives of students while utilizing your expertise as a VI educator.
