Desired Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments Knowledge of Braille instruction and adaptive technology Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to create, modify, and implement IEPs Flexibility to serve students in multiple school settings as needed
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans tailored to each students needs Adapt general education materials into accessible formats Teach Braille reading and writing, orientation, and mobility skills Work closely with general education teachers, staff, and families to support student progress Assess students functional vision and learning environments Monitor and report on student goals, achievements, and adaptations Provide direct and consultative services to students and staff By taking on this role, you will help open doors and expand possibilities for visually impaired students, ensuring they have the tools and support necessary for academic and personal success.
