Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a real difference in the lives of students by providing exceptional special education services in a dynamic day school setting for grades K-12. This contract position calls for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support learners through individualized instruction, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and the creation of a nurturing classroom environment. Flexibility and adaptability are highly valued—experience with or preference for middle school grades is a plus.

Key Qualifications:

Current California Special Education Credential with Mild/Moderate Authorization (required) Solid understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring Comfortable serving a varied caseload of K-12 students; middle school expertise preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt to diverse learning needs

Primary Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver specialized instruction tailored to student needs, following IEPs Track student progress and maintain accurate records, supporting compliance and best practices Collaborate closely with general education teachers, aides, and support staff Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom community that promotes growth for all learners Engage with families regarding student achievements and areas of growth Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities This full-time (37.5 hours/week) contract role is based at a well-established K-12 day school dedicated to supporting students with individualized needs.
