About Us TheraPeds Partners is a therapist-owned and operated organization. We partner with schools to provide Special Education Teaching (SPED) services to PreK-12 students nationwide. As a team of special education providers, we understand the education process, IDEA requirements, and the importance of collaboration within multidisciplinary teams. Our mission is to deliver high-quality Special Education Teaching and Case Management (SPED) services while making meaningful connections in a collaborative learning environment. Job Description and Responsibilities This is a full-time, on-site role as a Special Education Teacher serving a school located in San Mateo, CA. The Special Education Teacher (SPED) will be responsible for providing teaching and case management services to students, conducting assessments, developing IEP plans, evaluating progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents). The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with students with special needs. Job Details Full-time special education teaching position with a 37.5-hour weekly schedule Year-round assignment beginning August 12, 2026 Fully on-site, in-person role within a supportive school environment California Clear Credential (or equivalent full California teaching credential) required Openings available in elementary school classrooms Support students with moderate to severe disabilities and extensive support needs in a structured special education setting Provide instructional leadership while supervising and collaborating with classroom paraprofessionals Maintain a small classroom with approximately 8-12 students and dedicated paraprofessional support Develop and implement individualized instructional programs, monitor student progress, and collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams Guaranteed paid hours include instruction, lesson planning, IEP meetings, documentation, and other professional responsibilities Ongoing collaboration and support from both the partnering school district and the TheraPeds Partners team Competitive compensation of $75-$85+ per hour , with estimated weekly earnings of approximately $2,812-$3,187+ Requirements Teaching Certification, Bachelors or Masters Degree or higher in Special Education State License as as SPED teacher CA Clear (or full) License Credentials 1+ years of experience in a school setting preferred Experience working with children Organizational and time management skills Proficient in use of technology Fingerprint background clearance Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications Physical Requirements Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
