- 1 •Position Overview•We are seeking a dedicated •Special Education Teacher•for a preschool special day class in •Santa Maria, CA•.
This full-time opportunity offers a guaranteed assignment for the entire school year and the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners with special needs. The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction, conduct assessments and evaluations, support IEP implementation, and collaborate with families and educational teams to help students achieve their academic and developmental goals.
- Key Responsibilities
- + Provide specialized instruction to preschool students receiving special education services.
+ Conduct educational assessments and evaluations.
+ Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
+ Maintain accurate records and progress documentation.
+ Collaborate with administrators, therapists, support staff, and families.
+ Consult with parents regarding student progress and educational goals.
+ Adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs.
+ Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local special education requirements.
- Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements
- + Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred.
+ Valid state teaching credential as required by state regulations.
+ Minimum one year of school-based experience required.
+ Experience working with moderate to severe special education populations preferred.
+ Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Education Teaching Certification preferred.
+ Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement preferred.
+ Current CPR certification, if applicable.
+ Current health certificate and TB documentation, if required.
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements.
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
