Key Qualifications:

Active California Special Education Teaching Credential with at least Mild/Moderate Authorization Previous experience teaching special education students, ideally including middle school grades In-depth understanding of IEP processes, compliance, and documentation Strong communication skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Familiarity with a variety of instructional strategies for students requiring differentiated support Flexibility to work with variable grade levels, providing adaptive instruction as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that promote student growth Adapt curriculum and utilize diverse teaching methods to support learning goals Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued Partner with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with parents/guardians Participate in parent meetings, professional development, and school events as required Provide crisis intervention and emotional support as needed to promote student well-being This position offers a full-time, 37.5-hour workweek, ideal for educators eager to make a difference in the lives of extraordinary students.
