EMIT Learning is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher for an onsite contract position in Vacaville, California , for the 2026-2027 school year . The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and academic support to students with diverse learning needs in a school setting. Responsibilities include developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), adapting curriculum, monitoring student progress, maintaining accurate documentation, collaborating with general education teachers and related service providers, and communicating regularly with families.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities, including students on the autism spectrum and those with developmental delays. Adapt instructional materials and activities using curriculum development strategies and educational technology to enhance learning outcomes. Collaborate closely with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, parents, and other professionals to support student progress through team-based planning and intervention. Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive behavior management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. Develop and implement IEPs while monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate and timely documentation.
Qualifications:
Valid California State Special Education Credential Moderate/Severe is required. School-based special education experience is preferred. Experience with IEP development, specialized instruction, progress monitoring, and supporting students with diverse learning needs is preferred.
