What they do
A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

HOURLY PAY
$21.30/hour plus mileage reimbursement Positions start as part-time hours (about 20-25 per week); potential to build up to full-time hours- depending on availability and caseload in the area Coverage area includes: Victorville Hesperia Adelanto Apple Valley And surrounding/outlying areas of the High Desert Raising a child with a developmental disability is a journey that takes knowledge, love, patience, and support.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in health/human services-related major required If you do not have aBachelor's Degree:
May substitute one year of full time college for each year of experience working/volunteering with children (For example, if you have the equivalent of two years of full-time college classes PLUS 2 or more years of experience working directly with children we will consider this as meeting the requirement)Note:
