Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic and rewarding educational environment as a Special Education professional focused on supporting young adults in their transition to independence. This contract opportunity calls for a compassionate and creative teacher to work onsite with students aged 18 to 21, providing instruction in both classroom and community settings. You'll focus on fostering job readiness and daily living skills, making a real difference as students prepare for life beyond school.

Key Qualifications:

Current or in-process Colorado Department of Education (CDE) license (must provide valid documentation with application) At least one year of classroom experience, preferably in special education settings Ability to be a flexible, collaborative team member Strong organizational skills, especially in data tracking and documentation Experience or interest in working with young adults and developing practical, real-world curricula

Role Responsibilities:

Provide instruction in job readiness and independent living skills to a caseload of 12 students within a supportive transitions program Teach both in the classroom and accompanying students in community settings Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) Collect and maintain data on student progress, meeting all program and legal requirements Collaborate with colleagues, families, and local partners to maximize student outcomes Commit to onsite hours of 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, adhering to full-time expectations
