9589720-80219 Job Description Make an impact supporting students with visual impairments through a rewarding, full-time contract assignment for the upcoming academic year. This onsite position operates in a dynamic district near Denver, offering the chance to work alongside dedicated educators and serve students from early childhood through high school. As a vital member of the team, you will shape individualized education plans and foster student success in inclusive, accessible classroom environments.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Active Colorado Department of Education certification with Special Education Specialist Visual Impairment (ages 0-21) endorsement (required) Masters degree or higher in special education visual impairment or equivalent Experience providing assessment, instruction, and support for visually impaired students (ECEhigh school) Strong collaboration skills with educators, families, and district staff Orientation & Mobility (O&M) certification is highly preferred, though not required Ability to complete and pass background check and fingerprints
Core Responsibilities:
Conduct and interpret vision assessments, Expanded Core Curriculum evaluations, and develop IEPs Deliver specialized instruction, academic support, and orientation & mobility services Adapt classroom environments and educational materials for accessibility Support students with additional disabilities through targeted instruction Facilitate communication and professional collaboration to meet student goals Uphold compliance, maintain accurate files, and align work with district strategic objectives This role spans the entire school year, running from July 31, 2026, through May 26, 2027, structured as a 35-hour work week, Monday through Friday. The assignment is district-based, with school placements determined upon hire.
