Job Description

Heartsong Montessori is a small community-rooted preschool serving children ages 2.5-7 years old. We intentionally keep our program small so children, families, & teachers feel known, supported, & connected. We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization supported through grants & community investment- allowing us to focus on quality classroom experience & long-term sustainability.
POSITION
This role blends Montessori classroom leadership with program leadership within a small nonprofit school community. You will lead a high-quality classroom, support staff, partner with families, & help manage day-to-day operations that keep our program strong & thriving. Additional paid opportunities for summer programming leadership may be available. HeartSong Montessori is an Equal Opportunity Employer & a strictly tobacco-free environment.

QUALIFICATIONS
ECT Qualification (AA or BA) Experience in classroom leadership/ECE Familiarity or experience with Montessori Strong interpersonal & communication skills Ability to balance leadership with program responsibilities Other combination of education/experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Montessori Certification (AMI/AMS or equivalent) Director Qualification Experience with nonprofit operations, compliance & administration Interest in family engagement & community partnerships Interest in leading & expanding programming
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES CLASSROOM LEADERSHIP
Lead a calm, structured, engaging Montessori classroom Maintain a high-quality, prepared environment Guide children's academic, social-emotional, & behavioral development Plan lessons, observe, document, & report on progress Ensure student safety & promote indepdence & curiosity
PROGRAM LEADERSHIP & STAFF SUPPORT
Suport & mentor assistant teachers & staff Maintain program-wide consistency in routines & quality Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, & mission-aligned team culture Participate in problem-solving & continuous improvement Build respectful relationships & report to the Board of Directors
FAMILY & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Support & maintain ongoing communications with families Build respectful relationships & support family engagement Represent HeartSong Montessori within the broader community
PREFFERED OPERATIONS & NONPROFIT PROGRAM SUPPORT
Support licensing, compliance, & program requirements (UPK, CCCP, etc.) Lead recruitment, enrollment, & parent engagement Contribute to fundraising, grants, & community partnerships Support the day-to-day operational needs of a small nonprofit Please submit a resume to: contactheartsong@gmail.com
