9589720-80123 Job Description Step into an impactful educational role supporting students with visual impairments from early childhood through high school in the Denver area. As a full-time teacher of the visually impaired, you will play a vital part in empowering students and ensuring equitable access to learning throughout the academic year. This is an onsite contract position covering multiple school locations within the district, with a commitment running from July 31, 2026, to May 26, 2027.

What were looking for:

Colorado Department of Education certification with an active Special Education Specialist Visual Impairment (ages 0-21) endorsement Masters degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in special education visual impairment or equivalent as determined by the department Ability and willingness to serve students across the birth-to-21 age range

Preferred:

Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Certification Strong assessment and program development skills Excellent collaboration and communication abilities Key responsibilities will include: Administering and interpreting functional vision assessments and expanded core curriculum evaluations Developing and implementing customized Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Delivering specialized instruction, academic support, and orientation and mobility services Adapting classroom materials and environments to ensure accessibility Collaborating with families, school staff, and district administrators to support student goals Maintaining accurate student and HR documentation in alignment with district standards Upholding compliance and best practice in all facets of your work This role offers you the chance to use your expertise in visual impairments to make a measurable difference in students lives while enjoying the support of a collaborative educational community.
