Shift Details:
Day 5x8-Hour (08:00
  • 16:30) 40 hrs / week Student Population (Elem, Middle, HS): K-5 with a focus on K-2 Special Education Teacher
Duties & Responsibilities:
Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student to meet their specific needs. Provide specialized instruction, adapt general education lessons, and teach various subjects tailored to students with disabilities. Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success and ensure a collaborative approach to education. Assess student progress and provide necessary accommodations and modifications to support their learning. Ensure students are provided with a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the least restrictive environment (LRE) possible, following all procedures and protecting student rights. Full-time Long-Term Substitute Teacher for an Autistic Support classroom serving grades 3-5. Supporting students with autism, including nonverbal learners, implementing IEPs, and fostering a positive learning environment. Minimum Qualifications Must possess or be eligible for a Special Education license in the state of SC Preferred licensure areas may include Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ABS) Minimum of 1 year related experience. Additional certifications may be required. Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
