An opportunity is available for a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to serve in an intensive resource classroom for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. This classroom environment is specially designed for six elementary-aged students (grades 1-6) whose disabilities include Down syndrome and non-verbal autism. Most students utilize AAC devices to communicate and require individualized, creative instructional approaches. You will collaborate with a dedicated team including paraprofessionals and related service providers (OT, SLP, SSW) who offer both in-class and pull-out support to meet the wide range of academic, behavioral, and self-care needs. With a favorable student-teacher ratio, you'll have the time and resources to truly make an impact.

Desired Qualifications:

Hold a valid Special Education teaching license (or eligibility to obtain one) Experience supporting students with moderate to severe disabilities Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices Strong skills in IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring Ability to build rapport and facilitate positive relationships with students, families, and team members Adaptability, creativity, and patience in differentiating instruction
