Job Description

Step into a rewarding role supporting students with diverse learning needs in a full-time contract special education position at a local high school near Arvada, CO. This opportunity runs from August 11 to May 21 and is dedicated to providing specialized instruction and guidance to students on alternative standards within a collaborative, student-centered environment.
Qualifications:
Active Colorado CDE Special Education (SPED) License with a Generalist Endorsement (5-21) is required Must possess a Professional Teacher License endorsed in Special Education Generalist Proof of licensure application/endorsement is acceptable if documentation is provided Temporary, substitute, interim, or hybrid/VOCO licenses are not eligible Solid experience in special education settings within schools Ability to thoroughly articulate instructional practices, strategies, and knowledge of specially designed instruction Deep understanding of the IEP process and proven collaboration with IEP teams
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs Deliver direct instruction and design lessons aligned to alternative standards Engage with students through differentiated and evidence-based teaching strategies Work closely with other educators, support staff, and specialists to provide a holistic learning environment Maintain accurate documentation, communication with families, and compliance with all regulatory requirements Advocate for students' access to necessary resources and services This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference every day, build relationships with passionate professionals, and grow as an educator in a supportive district.
