Job Description

Make a direct and lasting impact supporting students with significant social, emotional, and behavioral needs as a Special Education Teacher working full-time in a dedicated middle school environment. This contract position focuses on affective needs programming for students with moderate to severe disabilities and autism, from now through the end of the academic year. Youll work on-site, collaborating with school staff to provide a continuum of services within a supportive learning community. The role centers on individualized instruction, social-emotional support, and implementation of effective behavioral strategies.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Colorado Department of Education Teaching License with Special Education Generalist endorsement (Ages 5-21) Experience supporting students with moderate to severe disabilities and autism Familiarity with behavior assessments and interventions, including Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and related strategies is highly valued Strong communication skills and an ability to engage effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary school teams Ability to meet time-sensitive district credentialing and paperwork requirements prior to start date
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with affective needs per IEP goals Develop and adapt curriculum materials to meet diverse learning and behavioral needs Assess student progress and adjust instructional approaches accordingly Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and support staff to foster an inclusive educational environment Develop behavior plans and implement evidence-based interventions Maintain accurate documentation and foster open communication with families This opportunity offers full-time hours (37.5 per week) in a single school assignment, providing the consistency and support needed for both educator and student success.
