Key Qualifications:
Current and valid Special Education Teacher (SPED) license issued by the state of Connecticut (CT SPED License required) Bachelors degree (or higher) in Special Education or related field Prior experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in 1st and 2nd grades Strong communication, classroom management, and collaboration skills Knowledge of IEP development and implementation aligned with state and district requirements Familiarity with differentiated instruction and evidence-based intervention strategies
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and assess Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a caseload of 1st and 2nd grade students Provide direct instruction tailored to students unique learning needs in individual and small group settings Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and administration Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to foster academic, social, and emotional growth Create a supportive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment Why consider this contract opportunity?
