e2112-06106 Job Description Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Visually Impaired Teacher working 1:1 with a pediatric student in a dynamic educational environment close to Hartford, CT. This full-time, on-site position is designed for professionals who are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of students with visual impairments. Travel professionals are encouraged to apply, bringing expertise and compassion to this long-term assignment.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Bachelors Degree (B.A.) is required Active state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) is mandatory Experience working 1:1 with pediatric students, especially in school settings, strongly preferred Solid understanding of specialized instructional strategies for visually impaired learners Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored 1:1 instruction to a student with visual impairment, supporting both academic and functional skill development Adapt classroom materials and curriculum to meet individual student needs, in collaboration with school staff Implement and track progress on individualized education plans (IEPs) Communicate regularly with families, therapists, and educational teams to maximize student outcomes Employ assistive technology and accessible instructional resources This opportunity offers a supportive and collaborative atmosphere where your skills as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired are valued and recognized.
