Job Description

Make a daily impact in students' lives as a dedicated paraprofessional, supporting learners in elementary and middle school environments. This full-time contract opportunity near Hartford, CT offers an immediate start and runs through June 11, 2027, with a consistent weekday schedule (8:45 AM3:45 PM, 35 hours per week). Your morning will be spent providing 1:1 assistance to a student at the elementary level, then transitioning to support another student in a middle school setting each afternoon. The role centers on working closely with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, so American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency and experience with this population are essential. Ideal candidates are compassionate, flexible, and dedicated to fostering a supportive learning environment. Qualifications:
High school diploma (required) American Sign Language (ASL) experience and up-to-date ASL certification (must be provided) Previous experience working with children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (D/HH) Strong skillset for 1:1 work with students Comfortable and experienced with toileting and diapering tasks Experience supporting students with special needs (SPED) Ability to complete required district background checks and paperwork Willingness and capability to work fully onsite
