This full-time contract opportunity offers you the chance to work 37.5 hours per week, starting as soon as possible and continuing through the end of the school year. There are two openings available for dedicated professionals ready to make a meaningful impact.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Connecticut teaching certification (065 or 165) required Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher in a secondary (high school) environment Strong understanding of special education best practices, IEP development, and progress monitoring Excellent communication and collaboration skills for partnering with students, families, and instructional teams Dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and positive classroom atmosphere
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and individualized instruction tailored to each students needs in a high school setting Develop, implement, and track Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Collaborate with other educators and support staff to create cohesive student plans Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities Monitor and report on student progress, making appropriate adjustments as needed Provide ongoing advocacy for students with special needs Facilitate communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and support strategies This is an excellent opportunity to step into a fulfilling role in a welcoming education community, focused on student achievement and professional collaboration.
