This full-time contract opportunity begins ASAP and continues through the end of the school year, offering an impactful position with 37.5 hours per week. With two openings available, you'll work with a collaborative team dedicated to fostering academic and personal growth in students with special education needs.

Qualifications:

Valid 065 or 165 Connecticut certification is required Demonstrated experience working as a Special Education Teacher at the secondary or high school level Strong understanding of IEPs, accommodations, and the ability to modify curriculum as needed Ability to create engaging, inclusive lessons that cater to a range of learning abilities Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Commitment to building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver instruction to high school students in accordance with individualized education plans Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in close collaboration with support staff and families Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs, ensuring a supportive learning environment Track student progress, provide feedback, and complete required documentation efficiently Partner with general education teachers to promote inclusion and participation in schoolwide activities Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as needed
