Duties Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned with IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals, ensuring instructional modifications meet each student's unique needs. Implement evidence-based behavioral management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies to support students' social-emotional development. Integrate educational technology tools to enhance learning experiences and facilitate literacy, math, and communication skills development. Conduct assessments and utilize standardized testing to monitor progress, adjusting instruction accordingly to maximize student achievement. Collaborate regularly with speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and other professionals to coordinate comprehensive support for students. Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, behavior reports, and IEP compliance while ensuring transparent communication with parents through regular updates and meetings. Manage classroom behavior effectively by establishing routines, setting clear expectations, and employing positive reinforcement strategies that foster a safe learning environment. Experience Proven classroom experience working with students with disabilities in elementary or preschool settings is essential. Demonstrated expertise in special education law, including IEP development, instructional modifications, and legal compliance. Experience working with children on the autism spectrum or with developmental disabilities using evidence-based interventions such as speech therapy and behavioral health techniques. Familiarity with early childhood education principles, Montessori methods, or preschool curricula is highly desirable. Strong communication skills for effective parent-teacher collaboration and team coordination. Background in curriculum development tailored for diverse learners, including literacy education and math instruction for students with neurodevelopmental disorders. Knowledge of classroom management strategies specific to special education environments to foster positive behavior and engagement.
