Job Description

50 Stars Staffing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher for a school-based position in Winsted, Connecticut . The ideal candidate will provide individualized instruction and behavioral support to students with diverse learning needs while collaborating with teachers, families, and related service providers. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with student IEP goals. Provide specialized academic and behavioral support. Adapt curriculum, lessons, and instructional materials to meet student needs. Monitor and document student progress. Participate in PPT/IEP meetings and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team. Implement accommodations, modifications, and appropriate behavior-support strategies. Maintain a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment. Communicate effectively with families and school staff. Maintain accurate documentation and comply with school and state requirements. Qualifications Valid Connecticut Special Education teaching certification or eligibility to obtain one. Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field. Previous experience working with students with disabilities preferred. Strong classroom-management and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and related service professionals.
