What Youll Do:

Lead instruction and manage classroom activities for grades 6-8 in a self-contained autism program Design and adapt curriculum to meet individual needs, aligning with IEP goals and best practices for students with autism Develop a positive, structured environment that nurtures learning, independence, and social growth Collaborate with support staff and related service providers to deliver comprehensive educational plans Communicate regularly with families regarding progress, goals, and ways to support each learner Maintain thorough documentation and participate in IEP meetings

Qualifications:

Current Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) for grades 6-8 in Connecticut Demonstrated experience teaching middle school-aged students, particularly in self-contained and/or autism-specific classrooms Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills Familiarity with the development and implementation of IEPs Excellent collaboration and communication abilities
