Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make an impact by supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in an educational setting. This contract role offers the chance to collaborate closely with students, families, and school staff to ensure every child receives the resources and instruction needed to thrive academically and socially.

Key Qualifications:

State certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility to obtain) Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred) Previous experience working with children or adolescents who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing Strong knowledge of a variety of communication methods, including American Sign Language (ASL), auditory/oral, and total communication approaches Ability to assess and adapt materials to meet students' individualized education plans (IEPs) Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

Deliver classroom and/or individual instruction tailored to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum and implement accommodations Monitor student progress and document interventions, maintaining compliance with IEP requirements Provide advocacy and guidance to students and families, supporting optimal educational outcomes Serve as a resource to school staff regarding best practices and assistive technology Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions Working as a travel professional in this setting, you'll have a unique opportunity to build relationships and contribute to students' growth while benefiting from diverse experiences.
