A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description

Join our dynamic educational team as a Special Education Teacher, where your passion for fostering inclusive learning environments will make a profound difference in students' lives. Duties Design and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned with students' IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) to support their unique learning goals Implement instructional modifications and accommodations to facilitate access to the curriculum for students with disabilities Conduct assessments and utilize educational technology tools to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly Collaborate closely with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, parents, and other professionals. Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, conduct standardized testing, and prepare reports for parent-teacher conferences Skills Proven experience working with students with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders and other conditions in a school environment.
