School-Age Teacher / Afterschool Program Teacher The School-Age Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for school-age children before and after school. This position includes covering staff lunch breaks, welcoming children as they arrive by bus, supervising snack time, and providing age-appropriate activities that support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Essential Responsibilities Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of school-age children at all times. Cover classroom staff lunch breaks and maintain appropriate supervision during staff coverage periods. Receive children arriving by bus and assist them safely into the program. Take attendance and ensure all children are accounted for. Provide and supervise snack time while encouraging appropriate table manners and healthy eating habits. Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, games, outdoor play, STEM activities, homework support, and other enrichment opportunities. Encourage positive social interactions, cooperation, sharing, and respectful communication among children. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom and activity areas. Follow all center policies and procedures, including health, safety, supervision, and emergency procedures. Communicate effectively with children, families, teachers, and other staff members. Provide positive guidance and support to help children develop independence and appropriate behaviors. Assist with transitions, clean-up, and daily routines. Complete required documentation, attendance records, and incident reports as needed. Perform other duties related to the care and supervision of school-age children as assigned. Qualifications CDA or Associates in Early Childhood Education preferred. Eperience working with school-age children preferred. Ability to create and lead fun, engaging, and age-appropriate activities. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Dependable, patient, energetic, and able to work effectively with children. Ability to maintain a safe and positive environment for all children. Must meet applicable state licensing and program requirements.

Job Summary Pay:

$17.50 - $18.00 per hour
