Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Inspire and guide young learners as a Special Education Teacher for a first and second grade caseload during the 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity is conveniently located near Torrington, CT, with a full-time schedule from August 2026 through June 2027. You'll make a meaningful impact by supporting diverse learners and collaborating with dedicated educational teams.

Qualifications:

Valid Special Education teaching license or certification Experience working with elementary students, especially in a special education capacity Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Collaborative spirit and willingness to partner with teachers, support staff, and families Adaptability and resourcefulness when supporting students' varying needs

What You'll Do:

Provide direct instruction and support to special education students in first and second grade Develop, implement, and track IEP goals and accommodations for your assigned caseload Modify curriculum and utilize a range of instructional strategies to promote student success Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment Communicate progress and collaborate with families, administrators, and student support services Maintain accurate records and participate in team meetings
