Set in a collaborative elementary school environment near Torrington, Connecticut, this role runs from August 2026 through June 2027, offering the chance to make a lasting difference over the academic year. In this dynamic position, you'll work a Monday through Friday schedule (32.5 to 37.5 hours per week) providing tailored support to a caseload of first and second grade students. Your primary focus will be implementing individualized instructional strategies and fostering an inclusive classroom atmosphere where all learners can thrive.

Key Qualifications:

Valid Special Education Teaching certification (or eligibility for certification in Connecticut) Previous experience working with elementary-aged students preferred Proficiency with IEP development, implementation, and documentation Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaborative work with staff and families Flexibility and resourcefulness when supporting diverse learners

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver differentiated instruction and interventions for students with a range of learning needs in the 1st and 2nd grades Manage and update Individualized Education Programs, collaborating closely with classroom teachers and related service providers Track and report on student progress, maintaining compliance with local and federal guidelines Foster a supportive, engaging classroom environment that encourages student growth Participate in school-wide meetings and contribute to a positive school culture Be at the forefront of supporting young learners as they grow by applying for this contract Special Education teaching opportunity.
