Job Description
Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting either 4th/5th grade or 7th/8th grade students in a dynamic resource setting. This contract role begins August 25, 2026 (or sooner if available), and continues through June 7, 2027. Step into a collaborative environment, working Monday through Friday from 8:15 am to 3:45 pm EST, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch and a total of 35 hours per week. Compensation for this role ranges from $40 to $55 per hour, depending on experience. Bring your expertise to a diverse classroom, providing essential push-in and pull-out services in small group settings. You'll create a positive, supportive learning atmosphere where every student is empowered to reach their fullest potential. Qualifications & Experience Valid Connecticut teaching license with 165 or 265 Special Education Certification Background working as a Special Education Teacher, particularly in resource/push-in/pull-out models Experience with 4th/5th or 7th/8th grade students preferred Skilled in adapting instruction to individual learning needs Strong collaboration and communication abilities Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive classroom Key Responsibilities Deliver instruction and interventions to small groups in resource and push-in/pull-out settings Collaborate with general education staff on student progress and accommodations Develop and implement IEP goals for assigned students Monitor, record, and report academic and social development Engage in ongoing communication with families and support staff Promote a positive, inclusive classroom environment This is an excellent opportunity to make a lasting difference in students' lives while furthering your own professional growth.
