Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract An exciting opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher seeking a contract position for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time role serves high school students in both resource and co-teaching environments. You'll work in a collaborative setting, providing targeted support and differentiated instruction to help every student succeed.

Key Details:

Contract position for the full academic year: August 24, 2026 - June 24, 2027 Full-time schedule: 7:30 am to 2:40 pm, Monday through Friday Caseload includes high school resource and co-teaching assignments What we're looking for: Valid Special Education teaching certification (applicable to Connecticut requirements) Experience supporting high school learners in resource and/or co-teaching models Demonstrated ability to create and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with general education teachers, staff, students, and families Commitment to inclusive practices to help diverse learners achieve growth Your responsibilities: Provide direct instruction and support to students with varying needs, individually and in small groups Collaborate with general education teachers to co-design and adapt lessons for inclusive classrooms Monitor student progress, maintain documentation, and participate in IEP meetings Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student achievements and needs Contribute positively to school culture and a team-based approach to student success If you're ready to support high school students and make a meaningful impact during the 2026-2027 school year, apply now to learn more about this rewarding contract position.
