e2112-19901 Job Description Step into a rewarding opportunity tailored for an experienced Teacher of the Visually Impaired who is ready to make a significant difference in a school-based setting. In this full-time, long-term contract position, youll work 1:1 in a pediatric environment, providing targeted instruction and advocacy to support students unique educational journeys. Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Bachelors degree (B.A.) required. Active Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) credential for the state required. Previous experience providing 1:1 instruction to pediatric students preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Adaptability to collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and additional service providers. Willingness to relocate or travel for on-site assignments.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting learning materials, and utilizing assistive technology. Assess student progress, maintain documentation, and update educational plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Advocate for accessibility, ensuring classroom materials and environments meet each students needs. Consult with teachers and staff to facilitate effective inclusion and support. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices for visually impaired education.
