Job Description

Special Education Teacher (Middle School) Position Overview We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teachers to support middle school students in an inclusive educational environment. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher provides high-quality instructional services to students with special needs and collaborates with educational teams to ensure student success. The ideal candidate is committed to student growth, individualized instruction, and meaningful collaboration with families, administrators, and general education staff. Key Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction to students receiving special education services. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet student needs. Deliver academic interventions, tutorial assistance, and instructional support. Maintain accurate student records and documentation in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and student planning sessions. Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. Implement classroom management strategies that support academic and behavioral success.

Interview Process:
Virtual interviews Potential opportunities for extended school year (ESY) support may be available. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Valid state teaching certification as required by state and district regulations. Minimum of one year of teaching experience preferred. Standard Elementary Teaching certification preferred. Standard Secondary Teaching certification preferred. Standard Special Education Teaching certification preferred. Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of special education practices and professional standards. Current CPR certification if required. Health screening and related documentation as required by state regulations. Must meet all applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Must be at least 18 years of age.
