HOURLY General Summary:
Performs a wide variety of age appropriate daily activities related to the care and development of young children ages 8 weeks to 5 years of age. Plans and conducts age-appropriate activities which meet the social, intellectual, physical and emotional needs of the children, in order to monitor/track children's developmental readiness for school success.
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for each child's safety and health. Maintains classroom control within licensing and
N.A.E.Y.C.
guidelines 2.
Lesson Plans:
Plans and conducts a wide variety of daily activities that are age appropriate for the children in the classroom. 3. Maintains records and check lists on each child's growth and development using the Creative Curriculum Assessment tool. Conducts at least two parent conferences per school year on each child 4. Directs and supervises Assistant Teachers and any other adults in the classroom. Provides input to supervisor on Performance Evaluations for caregiver. 5. Assists with communication to Assistant Teachers, parents as necessary. Contributes to the Child Care Center newsletter on a monthly basis. Completes requested assignments in a timely manner. 6. Implement the curriculum that is consistent with the goals for children and promote learning and development in each of the following areas: social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive. 7. Experience:
Education:
Associate Degree; Early Childhood Education; Or Associate Degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Child Psychology, or Elementary Special Education. In lieu of related degree, may have an Associate's Degree in another field of study and transcript must include twelve (12) credits in Early Childhood Education, elementary education, child development, and or early childhood special education. Must also have a minimum of 6 months' work experience. Credential(s): DEED Certification within 60 days, if not already obtained. Heartsaver - Within 60 days, if not already obtained.
