9551485-19943 Job Description Make a difference in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher focused on early childhood education. This contract role, situated near Felton, DE, begins in August 2026 and runs through May 2027. Youll work full-time hours (37.5 each week, Monday through Friday) supporting children from birth through second grade, with a primary emphasis on preschoolers ages 2-5 diagnosed with autism, developmental delays, and similar disabilities.

Desired Qualifications:

Valid Early Childhood (Birth2nd grade) Special Education Certification Experience working with preschool-aged children who have disabilities, especially ages 25 Strong understanding of IEP processes and best practices for early intervention Collaborative mindset to work alongside general education teachers, therapists, and families Effective communication and documentation skills

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet preschool students unique needs Provide direct special education instruction in both individual and group settings Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed Foster an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment that encourages growth and participation Collaborate regularly with support staff, specialists, and families to ensure cohesive care and instruction Maintain accurate records and uphold all district and state compliance requirements
